On April 11 at 6 p.m., the sounds of music and sights of art will fill the North Central Texas College’s First State Bank Center for Performing Arts for “Sights and Sounds,” an annual fundraiser benefiting student scholarships. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and children at the door or can be purchased in advance from all the Cooke County Arts Council Members. In addition to amazing sights of art and sounds of music, the event will also feature appetizers from Mom’s Donut Shop and libations to refresh attendees.

The Gainesville Swing Orchestra is bringing the timeless classics of the Beatles to life with its fantastic 20-piece band. From the hauntingly beautiful “Norwegian Wood” to the poetic loneliness of the lyrics in “Eleanor Rigby,” these beloved songs will be reimagined in big band fashion. It’s sure to be an unforgettable evening of music as 20 talented musicians breathe new life into the songs that defined a generation.

Let your eyes feast upon stunning works of art from talented local artists with the Gainesville Area Visual Arts during the Opening Reception.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. and Dolce Canto Children’s Chorus of Cooke County, directed by Susan Beall, will be singing songs from their spring program, “A Light in the Darkness.”

The North Central Texas Chorale, directed by Mr. Clint Kelley, will perform music from their Spring Concert, “A Journey to Hope” - A Cantata inspired by Spirituals by Joseph M. Martin.

The Butterfield Stage Players will entertain audiences with a sneak peak of “Hands on a Hardbody” before the announcement of the Cooke County Art Council’s 2026 Scholarship Recipients.

Mark your calendar and invite your family and friends for “A Showcase of the Arts” on April 11, 2026. With music, art, food and more, it promises to be an entertaining night while also lending support to future scholars and creative talent within the community.
