Early voting for the Texas statewide electoral primaries began this week, Feb. 17, and will continue through Feb. 27. The primaries are an opportunity for voters to select their party’s candidates for the general election, which will be held on Nov. 3, 2026. In the instance that no candidate receives a majority of votes in the primary race, the top two vote-getters will participate in a runoff election on May 26.
It is not required that voters register with a particular party, but you can only participate in one party’s primary election (and in the subsequent runoff election, if necessary).
While ballots will include several federal and state positions, they will also include many local county seats. The following is a list of candidates for Grayson and Cooke County political races:
