Last Friday was the filing deadline for interested parties to submit an application for local city councils and school boards. In the surrounding area, the City of Whitesboro, the City of Southmayd and the Collinsville Independent School District are the only groups who will hold an election.
Ten people have filed for three open seats on the Whitesboro City Council:
David Bertino (incumbent)
Ronnie Fielder (incumbent)
Mike Pack (incumbent)
Ben Edwards
Jessica Edwards
Stephan Gardner
William Hall
Ryan Jones
Tom Leach
Caleb Mata
Whitesboro ISD only saw incumbents file with no challengers, so no election will be called:
Austin Miles (incumbent)
Michael Parish (incumbent)
Aaron Park (incumbent)
Collinsville City Council had four file to fill four open seats, so no election will be called:
Austin Lewter (incumbent)
Carl Lucas (incumbent)
Jessica Orsburn (incumbent)
Chris Black (will fill the seat currently held by Brandon White)
Collinsville ISD will have one contested seat on the ballot:
Place 1 - Matt Weaver (incumbent) & Derek Kays (challenger)
Place 2- Ryan Patterson (incumbent)
Place 3 -Jared Light (incumbent)
At S&S CISD, three filed for three open seats, so no election will be called:
Place 1- Daniel Brubaker
Place 3- Brittany Bennett
Place 4- Theresa Baca (will fill the seat currently held by Donna Dolezalek)
At Tioga ISD, three incumbents filed for three open seats, so no election will be called:
Seat 3- Ryan Walters (incumbent)
Seat 5- Holly Mizer (incumbent)
Seat 7 – Trina Colteryahn (incumbent)
On the Southmayd City Council, five candidates are vying for three alderman seats:
Mark J Everett (incumbent)
Teresa Miller (incumbent)
Matthew Tanner (incumbent)
Robert “Gene” Davis
Millie Rutherford
Early voting in Grayson County will begin Monday, April 20 and will end Tuesday, April 28.
