The Collinsville Lady Pirate basketball team earned first place in their district after a victorious game against Muenster last Thursday night.

W’boro, Tioga, S&S students to perform at minor league hockey game 
Students from Whitesboro, Tioga and S&S high schools are set to perform at Saturday’s Allen Americans hockey game. 

An ensemble of Whitesboro and S&S choir members will perform the “Star Spangled Banner” and the Tioga Bulldog Band will offer a rendition of “God Bless America” during the pregame ceremony at the CUTX Event Center in Allen. 

“This is always a great event,” said Tioga band director Jesse Speer. “And we are thrilled to collaborate with our friends from across Western Grayson County. The area will be well represented, and our amazing students get to showcase their talent on a big stage.”

The public is invited to attend. Tickets are $26 with a portion of the proceeds going back to each of the three schools.

Puck drops at 7:10 p.m. when the Americans host the Rapid City Rush. 

The groups will perform at 7 p.m. 

There is also an optional skate night after the game where participants can skate with American players and get autographs. 

Skate night requires an additional ticket that can be purchased at TicketMaster.com.

The Allen Americans are a AA developmental team within the Ottawa Senators (NHL) organization.

Bearcats fall to Wildcats
The Whitesboro Bearcat basketball team fell to Callisburg 57-41 Thursday night at home in district action. 

Ian Bruce led the effort with 13 points.

Dylan Carnes had eight points.

Wyatt Winchester had seven points.

The loss took Whitesboro 6-18 on the year and 2-4 in district play. As of press time, Tuesday night’s game at Ponder is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

S&S skids to Blue Ridge
The S&S Ram basketball team lost to Blue Ridge 58-23 Thursday night on the road in district play. 

The loss took S&S to 4-19 on the year and 1-5 in district play. 

As of press time, Tuesday’s home bout against Leonard is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

Collinsville clips Muenster
The Collinsville Pirate basketball team came up big Thursday night with a 62-45 win over Muenster on the road in district play. 

The win took Collinsville to 14-8 on the year and 6-1 in district play.

As of press time, Tuesday’s home game against Lindsay is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

Tioga topped by Chico
The Tioga Bulldog basketball team fell to Chico 50-41 Thursday night on the road in district play.

The loss took Tioga to 11-12 on the year and 2-5 in district play. 

As of press time, Tuesday’s road bout at Muenster is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

Lady Cats outlast Callisburg 
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat basketball team beat Callisburg 33-27 Thursday night at home in district play. 

Reagan Downs led the attack with 13 points and five rebounds.

Lauren Muntz had nine points, five rebounds and five assists.

Aubree Bruce had six points and five rebounds.

The win took Whitesboro to 12-16 on the year and 4-4 in district play.

As of press time, Tuesday’s road game at Ponder is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

Lady Pirates prove themselves against Muenster 
The Collinsville Lady Pirate basketball team took sole possession of first place in district Thursday night with their 69-59 win over Muenster.

The win took Collinsville to 25-3 on the year and 8-1 in district play.

They were set to host Lindsay on Tuesday night, but as of press time, that match is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

Lady Bulldogs bitten by Chico
The Tioga Lady Bulldog basketball team lost to Chico Thursday night with a 57-30 final. 

They fell to 6-21 on the year and 2-7 in district play.  

As of press time, Tioga’s game at Muenster on Tuesday night is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

Lady Rams lose to Blue Ridge 
The Lady Ram basketball team lost 37-17 Thursday night against Blue Ridge in district play.

They fell to 1-20 on the year and 0-8 in district play. 

They were set to host Leonard on Tuesday night, but as of press time, that game is on hold due to weather-related school closures.

W’boro comes up short to Paradise 
The Whitesboro Bearcat basketball team fell to Paradise 78-29 last week on the road in district play. 

The loss took Whitesboro to 6-17 on the year and 2-3 in district play. 

They hosted Callisburg on Thursday night.

Rams beaten by Bells 
The S&S Ram basketball team fell to Bells 74-38 last week at home in district play. 

The loss took S&S to 4-18 on the year and 1-4 in district play. 

They traveled to Blue Ridge on Thursday night.

Tioga toppled by Alvord 
The Tioga Bulldog basketball team dropped a district out with a 65-56 final against Alvord last week at home. 

The loss left Tioga 11-11 on the year and 2-4 in district play. 

They traveled to Chico on Thursday night.

Collinsville coasts by Era
The Collinsville Pirate basketball team topped Era 59-46 at home last week in district play. 

The win took Collinsville to 13-8 on the year and 5-1 in district play. 

They played at Muenster on Thursday night.

Lady Cats lose to Paradise
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat basketball team fell to Paradise 64-25 last week on the road. 

The loss took Whitesboro to 11-16 on the year and 3-4 in district play. 

They hosted Callisburg on Thursday.

Lady Pirates pound Era
The Collinsville Lady Pirate basketball team beat Era 80-37 last week on the road in district play. 

The win took Collinsville to 24-3 on the year and 7-1 in district play. 

They played at Muenster on Thursday.

Lady Bulldogs beat Alvord 
The Tioga Lady Bulldogs topped Alvord 50-43 last week at home in district play. 

Timber Johnson led the attack with 23 points and five assists 

Ella Norwood had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Brennan Guenther had 10 points and six rebounds.

Reese Robinson had six points and seven rebounds.

The win took Tioga to 6-20 on the year and 2-6 in district play.

They played at Chico on Thursday night.

Lady Rams routed by Bells 
The S&S Lady Ram basketball team fell to Bells 68-25 last week at home in district play. 

The loss took S&S to 1-19 on the year and 0-7 in in district play. 

They traveled to Blue Ridge on Thursday.
