Filing for area city councils and school boards opened Jan. 14. So far, as of press time, few people have submitted applications to run for office.

Whitesboro City Council alderman seats will include those of Mike Pack, Ronnie Fielder and newly-appointed David Bertino. All three incumbents have filed to run in the May election. 

On the WISD school board, the positions of Austin Miles, Aaron Park and Michael Parish are up for re-election. Nobody  has yet filed to run.

For Collinsville City Council, the two-year terms of Jessica Orsburn and Brandon White will be up for re-election, as will the two appointed terms of Carl Lucas and Austin Lewter. As of press time, nobody has filed to run.

On the CISD school board, the seats of Matt Weaver (Place 1), Ryan Patterson (Place 2) and Jared Light (Place 3) will be up for re-election. Nobody has entered their name so far.

In Southmayd, three alderman seats are up for re-election this year. As of press time, no one has submitted an application.

At S&S CISD, the seats of Daniel Brubaker (Place 1), Brittany Bennett (Place 3) and Donna Dolezalek (Place 4) will be available for election. So far, Brubaker and Bennett have turned in applications.

The deadline to submit an application is Friday, Feb. 13. Election Day will be May 2, 2026 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. 

Applications can be found at city halls and school district administration offices.
