More reports are coming in from universities announcing locals who have achieved academic success.

Emma Robinson of Whitesboro was named a Presidential Scholar at the University of Central Arkansas for fall 2025. More than 1,200 students were named as Presidential Scholars. Students must achieve a 4.0 GPA with a minimum course load of 12 credit hours to qualify as a Presidential Scholar.

Alexis Frick of Collinsville was named to the fall 2025 Dean’s List at the University of Central Arkansas. Frick was among more than 1,600 students named to the fall 2025 Dean’s List.
Eligibility on the Dean’s List requires at least a 3.5 GPA with a minimum course load of 12 credit hours.

Alyssa Tarpley, a biology major from Lake Kiowa, was named to Samford University’s Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean’s List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

And lastly, Emma Robinson of Whitesboro graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in biology during December commencement ceremonies. The ceremonies were held Thursday and Friday, Dec. 11-12, in the Farris Center on campus, conferring approximately 700 undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; College of Business; College of Education; College of Health and Behavioral Sciences; College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; and the Graduate School.
