Lady Pirates locked in the Top 10
The Collinsville Lady Pirate basketball team is on fire. They are 21-3 on the year after picking up key district wins against Tioga and Slidell over the past week.
They ranked number 10 in the state and tied with Muenster for first place in the district standings.
Collinsville picked up a huge win Friday with a 79-32 final over Tioga.
They are 4-1 in district play. That one loss is to Muenster.
They traveled to Alvord on Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.
The Friday win came after a 67-48 victory Tuesday, Jan. 6 on the road at Slidell.
Paige Davidson, Reese Patterson and Jaydee Matlock had 14 points apiece in that affair.
Ashleigh Ortowski had 10 points.
Kendall Brandewie had eight points for Collinsville.

Bearcats beaten by Boyd
The Whitesboro Bearcat basketball team fell to Boyd Friday 53-38 at home in district play.
Ian Bruce led the effort with 24 points.
Jett Pinkston had five points.
The loss took Whitesboro to 5-16 on the year and 1-2 in district.
They had a bye on Tuesday and travel to Valley View on Friday.
Lady Cats on a roll
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat basketball team picked up a second straight district win Friday when they topped Boyd 45-28 at home in district play.
In doing so, Whitesboro moved into third place in the district standings.
Lauren Muntz led the attack with 14 points and six steals.
Reagan Downs had nine points, four rebounds and four assists.
Emma Parish had eight points.
Aubree Bruce had six points.
The win took Whitesboro to 11-14 on the year and 3-2 in district play.
They had a bye on Tuesday and travel to Valley View tonight.
Pirates top Tioga
The Collinsville Pirates bested their cross-the-bridge rivals Friday night when they notched a 51-36 win over Tioga at home in district play.
Chad Davidson led the Collinsville attack with 29 points
Caysen Schafer had nine points.
Carter Larance offered in six points.
The win took Collinsville to 10-8 on the year and 2-1 in district play.

S&S gutted by Gunter
The S&S Ram basketball team fell to 0-3 in district play after a 70-32 road loss to Gunter on Friday.
They were 3-17 overall going into Tuesday’s home game against Howe.

S&S Lady Rams fell to 0-5 in district after Friday’s 77-35 road loss to Gunter in district play.
Bella Bennett led the effort with 12 points for S&S.

The S&S Lady Ram basketball team dropped a home district bout to Pottsboro last week with a 71-25 final.

Tioga’s Slay named All State
Tioga volleyball standout Kennedy Slay earned All-State honors by the Texas Sports Writers Association for her performances during the 2025 season.
Slay was named to the Class 2A first team at middle blocker.
She finished the season with 501 kills, a .379 hitting percentage, 88 blocks, 216 digs and 66 aces.
Slay led the Lady Bulldogs to the Class 2A Division I Region II final.
