To the editor,

Leave it to Shelly Kuehn to turn her Christmas article of Dec. 19 into yet another of her endless attacks of President Trump. So, let’s take the opportunity in this new year to get some facts straight.

No, Shelly - businesses are not rounding up the cost of goods because Trump stopped printing pennies. Pennies still exist and are legal tender, and only 14% of transactions use cash these days anyway.

No, Shelly – the GOP’s poll numbers are not “sliding off the chart, ” In fact, Pew Research shows Dems trailing Reps by 5 points, and Gallup shows the lead as 3 in party favorability.

No, Shelly – Trump has not “maimed American prestige around the world”. Whether you like his decisions or not, there’s no doubt that the world is safer now than just 12 months ago. America is respected again - and feared. Trump’s (and Reagan’s) strategy of Peace Through Strength won the Cold War and now allows peace to reign in nations around the globe.

No, Shelly – Trump has not “wounded the financial markets”. The Dow AND the S&P 500 reached their all-time high this week.

No, Shelly - No one is “voting conservatives out” in March as you suggest they do. March is the primary election. The general election is in November.

No, Shelly - Inflation is not up. It’s down 25% since Trump took office.

Also, the word “Nepotism” doesn’t mean what you think it means, and FYI the “Legislature and the Congress” – those are the same thing.

In this one article, you used the following words and phrases: “perched on his throne, his minions, endangering women’s lives, anti-American, pig in lipstick, inflated ego, maimed, wounded, spineless, killed, dictator.”

If President Trump was as evil as you make him out to be, you would never have been able to criticize him in print.

The extreme left in 2026 has no idea how blessed they are to live in America. They scream “tyranny” while exercising every freedom tyranny would have taken from them—protesting openly, publishing freely, and living comfortably in the very country they insist is on the brink of fascism.
