The Whitesboro Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), together with Happy Dave Blaylock, will sponsor their 18th Annual Father/Daughter dance on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m. This special beach-themed event will be at the Whitesboro Middle School at 600 Fourth Street.
“We are really excited to partner with the WISD again for this year’s dance,” said Parks and Recreation Director Penny Renfroe. “Last year we had to move the event due to an emergency power outage at the Community Center. The extra space at the Middle School, along with better access and increased parking, proved to be a win for all of our attendees. Fortunately, the district has allowed us to use their facility again this year.”
Girls of all ages are invited to attend with fathers, uncles, grandfathers, mentors, or friends. Girls are invited to ‘share a dad’ with a friend that wouldn’t otherwise be able to come.
“We just don’t want to see any little girl left out, so if she doesn’t have someone in her circle that she feels comfortable inviting, perhaps she would feel at ease coming with a friend and ‘sharing’ a dad,” Renfroe said.
Discounted tickets may be purchased before the event at the PARD offices between Monday, Jan. 12 and Wednesday, Jan. 28 for $6 per person.
“We are excited to offer an opportunity to avoid the long line on dance night by purchasing tickets ahead of the event,” Renfroe said. “The pre-sale tickets are available at the Jimmie O. Rector Community Center at 400 Wilson Street during regular office hours, so come on by and get your tickets early!”
The admission fee at the door will be $7 per person.
With this year’s theme of “Beach Bash,” attendees can expect a fun atmosphere, great music, refreshments and an opportunity for great memories. There will be a photographer at the dance to take pictures and post them on the department’s Facebook site. Additionally, moms desiring to take photos will be welcomed after 8:30 p.m.
“It’s so special for girls of all ages to know that they are daddy’s little sweetheart. This event provides a great opportunity for dads, or granddads or uncles, to have a date with their special daughter, granddaughter, or niece that’s all about her and making her feel loved and treasured,” Renfroe said. “It’s a rare gift when
dads get to dote on their daughters and make them feel beautiful and special.”
Music for the dance will be provided by Happy Dave.
“This event has been such a huge success in the past! We look forward to seeing all the fathers and daughters,” Renfroe said. “This is a wonderful way to honor the special little girls in their lives.”
