Registration is now open for the Whitesboro Parks and Recreation Department’s (PARD) Youth Baseball/Softball/Tee Ball leagues. Forms are being distributed through the area schools and are also available at the Whitesboro Community Center at 400 Wilson Street and on the department’s website. The PARD will accept registration forms until the deadline on Friday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.
The registration fee is $100 for all players five years through 12 years old. The registration fee for 13- & 14-year-olds (and 15-year-old girls) is $120. Boys’ baseball divisions are determined by age as of April 30. Girls’ softball divisions are determined by age as of Aug. 31.
There is a discount for families registering more than one child per sport. Families registering two children will receive $5 off the total fee. Those registering three or more children will receive $10 off the total fee.
There is a scholarship program to assist with registration fees. To be eligible for a sports scholarship, the child must qualify for the Free Lunch Program at school or be listed on a Medicaid or WIC card. Parents must provide the PARD with a current copy of the qualification letter or card as proof of eligibility for each season requesting the scholarship program.
In addition to the certificate, participants must pay a per-player fee of $40 for those 12 years and younger, $50 for 13 years and older, and they MUST register by the deadline. A copy of the player’s birth certificate must be included with the registration form and payment.
Players may access the online registration platform by visiting www.whitesboro.org/pard under Supporting Links at the bottom of the page. Scholarship rates are not available online. Registrations will be taken after the deadline only if needed to fill shortages on rosters. A $10 late fee will be added for anyone registering after the deadline. No sports scholarships will be given after the registration deadline; no exceptions!
