Tioga Cemetery, an official Wreaths Across America location, will host a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m.
In doing so, they will be joining more than 2,000 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.
Coordinated and led by Tioga Cemetery Association, local volunteers, and the Martha Jefferson Randolph chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have raised the funds to place 156 wreaths on the headstones of our fallen service members at Tioga Cemetery.
This annual event seeks to further the WAA mission of Remember, Honor, Teach, ensuring that the memory of those who served our country endures.
The theme of Wreaths Across America for 2025 is Keep Moving Forward.
A special invitation is extended to the families of the veterans interned at the Tioga Cemetery (14667 FM 922) to come say your loved one’s name aloud, and place that wreath on your loved one’s grave.
Wreaths Across America is a 501 ©(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreaths-laying ceremony at Arlington National cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992.
The organization’s mission -- Remember, Honor, Teach -- is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at more than 2,100 veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and overseas
The campaign to raise funds for the 2026 Wreath Day will begin after the ceremony. Your generosity is appreciated beyond measure.
