Pirates end run
The Collinsville Pirates came up short Friday in the Regional Semifinals with a 29-23 loss to district rival Lindsay at Springtown.
This is the first time in four years that Collinsville has not reached the Regional Finals.
Chase Sheppard led the effort with 26 carries for 171 yards and a touchdown.
Jaxon Spivey had 92 yards and two touchdowns on eight catches.
Paxton Davidson went 22-of-32 passing for 174 yards, two TDs and an interception.
Chad Davidson had three catches for 49 yards.
Collinsville ended their season 10-3.
Lindsay moved on to the Regional Finals and face Muenster tonight at Wichita Falls.
The Knights rushed for 317 yards.
They broke a virtual stalemate by taking the lead in the middle of the fourth quarter on an 83-yard Lane Foster touchdown pass.
Collinsville answered a few plays later with a 47-yard pass from Paxton Davidson to Spivey.
They were tied at 23 with five minutes left in regulation.

The Pirates started their final drive on their own 28-yard line but stalled tout four plays later.
Lindsay took over on downs and sealed the deal.
Collinsville previously beat Lindsay 47-29 earlier this year in district play.
Lady Bulldogs top Whitewright
The Tioga Lady Bulldog basketball team picked up a 56-52 over Whitewright in their home tournament last week.
Ella Norwood led the attack with 24 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.
Kyndall Whitley finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
Skilar Hodge chipped in seven points, five assists and four steels.
The win took Tioga to 2-3 on the year.
They went on to face Gainesville in the semifinal round Tuesday morning.
Tioga opened tournament play with a 37-28 loss to Valley View.
Zoey Hodge had 11 points, six rebounds and three steals in that bout.
Whitley was close behind with 10 points, five steals and four rebounds.
