Next Thursday, Dec. 4 marks the opening night for the Whitesboro High School (WHS) Theatre Department’s production of Annie Jr. The production will consist of three public performances and two student performances, all at the WHS Cafeteria.

The cast and crew have been working diligently since the summer, rehearsing lines and building set pieces. After so much hard work, the company is excited to put the performance before a live audience.

Tickets are on sale now. Student tickets are available for $10 at Whitesboro Middle School in the mornings before school. Any students that would like to purchase a ticket must see Mr. Morrell in the Theatre room. WHS student tickets will be on sale during all three lunches for the next few weeks. General admission tickets are $15 and will be sold online at https://fromthegrounduptheatre.ludus.com/

The cast of Annie Jr. includes:
Layla Carey (Annie); Bre Bensley (Miss Hannigan); Rip Harper (Oliver Warbucks); Jaleigh Bennett (Grace Farrell); Landry Harper (Rooster); Destry Fletcher (Lilly); Jemma Keller (Molly); Briley McBee (Kate); Kilee Bourne (Tessie); Georgia Maxwell (Pepper); Jadie Bennett (July); Alyssa Pittner (Duffy); Lincoln Carey (Sandy); Jason Reed (Bert Healy/ Roosevelt/Ensemble); Emma Hancock (Ensemble); Logan Cooley (Drake/Ward/Bundles/Ensemble); Tenley McGaughy (Ensemble); and Ellie Kirkpatrick (Ensemble).

This year’s production will also include younger students who were participants in Munchkin Camp, a summer camp held at the high school last July that not only taught theater and acting principles but secured them an ensemble role in the high school production. These kids learned song and dance routines that will be featured in the play.

Annie Jr. will be performed for the public at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 6. A matinee performance will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Private student performances will be held on Dec. 4 for Hayes Primary School students and Dec. 5 for Whitesboro Intermediate School students, all of whom will be bussed to the high school for the production.
