Bearcats fall to Cards, set to face Whitney
The Whitesboro Bearcats ended the regular season Friday night with a 32-24 loss to Pottsboro to end District 6-3A (I) play.
Justin Knight led the Bearcat effort with 27 carries for 110 yards and two TDs.
Senior Mason Scarbrough carried the ball eight times for 45 yards and a touchdown.
Victor Chavez had a 42-yard field goal.
Ian Bruce had two catches for 44 yards.
Quarterback Colt Fagan went 5-of-7 passing for 70 yards. He also rushed nine times for 18 yards.
The win took Whitesboro to 5-5 on the year and 3-3 in district play.
They opened the playoffs against Whitney Thursday at Ellis Stadium in Irving.

The Wildcats entered the post season 8-2 after finishing perfect in district play.
They beat West 41-28 last week.
Pottsboro ended the regular season 9-0.
They opened the post season Thursday against Maypearl.

Pirates slam Santo, on to post season
The Collinsville Pirates secured the second-place seed in the district play after a 40-13 home win Friday over Santo.
The Pirates amassed nearly 500 yards of total offense while their defense forced four fumbles and held Santo to 12 yards passing.
Paxton Davidson went 25-of-28, passing for 388 yards and five touchdowns.
Chad Davidson landed four catches for 128 yards and three scores.
Carter Larance had two catches for 91 yards.
Chase Sheppard ran eight times for 87 yards. He also returned a fumble for a TD.
Landry Spivey had three catches for 47 yards and a TD.
Trent Stewart had four catches for 38 yards and a score.
Jaxon Spivey had seven catches for 57 yards.
Collinsville ends the regular season 8-2 on the year and 4-1 in district play.
They open the playoffs with a bi-district match-up against Roscoe 7 p.m. tonight at Graham.
The Plowboys finished third in their district with a 3-7 overall record.
They were 3-2 in district and are coming off a 54-26 win over Miles.
Their other two district wins came over Winters on Oct. 24 and Cross Plains on Oct. 10.
Tioga advances, tops Nocona
The Tioga Bulldogs ended the regular season Friday with a 50-12 road win over Nocona.
Jaxson Hurst led the attack with eight catches for 117 yards and three touchdowns.
Justin Arrington had six catches for 81 yards.
A duel threat, he also grabbed three interceptions on defense, one of which was a pick-six.
Newly minted quarterback Kyson Kirkland went 20-of-26 passing for 242 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.
He also rushed five times for 33 yards and a score.
Kirkland came in under center for the first time last week after an injury sidelined starter Greeley McAden.
Quesyn Arrington had four catches for 41 yards and scored.
Wyatt Smothermon had two catches for 36 yards.
Caden Downing scored once on the ground.
The win took Tioga to 5-4 on the year and 4-2 in district play.
They ended the regular season the four seed.
They face Hamilton in the bi-district round 7 p.m. tonight at Godley.
The Hamilton Bulldogs are coming off a thriller 27-26 upset win over De Leon that secured a District Championship.
They are undefeated in district play.
S&S falls to C’burg, Wildcats on to playoffs
The S&S Rams fell to Callisburg Thursday 42-8 but ended their season with two more wins than the past two years combined
Joe Orr led the Ram effort with nine catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Hunter Courville had 16 carries for 54 yards and a 34-yard catch.
He also went 14-of-31 passing for 114 yards, a score and two interceptions.
Elisha Gentry had three catches for 27 yards.
The Rams ended the year 2-7 and 0-6 in district play.
This was their 26th straight district contests.
S&S found the win column twice, right before district opened.
First with a 20-12 win over Nocona.
Then with a 47-42 final over Rivercrest to end a 27-game losing streak.
Gabe Zinski led the Wildcat attack with four carries for 173 yards and three touchdowns.
He also had two catches for 88 yards and a score.
Teagan Barnett had four carries for 85 yards.
McCoy Evans went 3-of-5 passing for 96 yards and a TD.
He also rushed for a touchdown.
The win took Callisburg to 5-5 on the year and 3-3 in district play.
They secured a playoff spot after a tie-breaker with Bells for fourth place.
They will face Trinity Leadership Cedar Hill 7 p.m. tonight at Fort Worth.
The Tigers come into the contest 8-2 on the year after having run the table in their district.
Tioga ladies on to regional final
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team topped Rio Vista Thursday 25-19, 26-24, 23-25, 25-20 in the regional semi-final.
In doing so, they punched their ticket to a regional showdown against district foe Whitewright.
The Lady Tigers handed Tioga their only two district losses. They are coached by former Tioga head coach Andrea Osbourn.
Against Rio Vista, Kennedy Slay had 23 kills and 12 digs.
Kyndall Whitley had 17 kills and 13 digs.
Maddison McDonald had six kills.
Bella Dennis had 26 digs.
Sadie Bates had 27 assists and 15 digs.
Kenzee Powers had 13 digs.
Ella Norwood had 14 assists, nine digs and six aces.
The win took Tioga to 32-8 on the year.
They faced off against Whitewright Tuesday in Melissa.
It is their first appearance in the region final since 2017.

Lady Pirates end run
The Collinsville Lady Pirate volleyball team ended their post-season run last week with a 26-24, 25-22, 26-24 loss to North Hopkins at Bonham in the Area Round.
Jaydee Matlock led the effort with nine kills and nine digs.
Kendall Brandewie had seven kills and eight digs.
Ali Patterson had four kills.
Paige Davidson had 36 assists, nine digs and four aces.
Reese Patterson had 12 digs.
Collinsville ended the season 27-13.
Lady Bulldogs top Wolfe City in Area Round
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team came back from the brink in last week’s Area Round playoff match against Wolfe City.
They were able to rally for a 22-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-15, 15-8 win and punch their ticket to the Regional Semi-Finals.
The win took Tioga to 31-8 on the year.
They went on to face Rio Vista Thursday at Colleyville Heritage in the semis.
Kennedy Slay led the Bulldog attack with 28 kills, 13 digs and four blocks.
Kyndall Whitley had 18 kills, 20 digs and four aces.
Maddison McDonald had nine kills.
Sadie Bates had 32 assists and eight digs.
Ella Norwood had 20 assists, 15 digs and four blocks.
Bella Dennis had 22 digs and three aces.
Kenzee Powers had 17 digs.
