The Whitesboro McDonald’s has been reduced to a pile of rubble in the first phase of a new construction project. The store closed its doors Nov. 2 for a major remodel, and on Monday, Nov. 10, demolition began. The building has been torn down and a new and improved McDonald’s will be reconstructed in its place. While there are evidently no plans to include a play area for children, the new building will be a more modern upgrade to the previous business. For now, Whitesboro staff is being sent to work at the brand-new Gainesville location at Hwy. 82 and Grand Avenue, and the Sherman location remains open. The Whitesboro construction project could take anywhere from six months to a year. Watch for a more detailed story in a future issue of the News-Record.
