Kynlee Dixon of Hound Town Grooming Spaw in Collinsville recently achieved “Certified Professional Groomer” (CPG) status with International Professional Groomers, Inc.
The CPG sets industry standards for pet and staff safety, health, sanitation and groomer ethics. It ensures that groomers will handle animals in their care in a safe and professional manner and demonstrate their grooming skills. This certification is awarded by evaluators, setting these skilled professionals apart from other groomers and validating their qualifications and professionalism to the public.

(IPG). “Kynlee Dixon has successfully demonstrated her abilities and skills through testing and independent evaluation of the handling of pets during the grooming process. This certification is an earned recognition of safety knowledge, compassionate treatment and humane handling of the pets in her care.”
The education and testing involved in the CPG meets and exceeds the standards created by the Professional Pet Groomers and Stylists Alliance (PPGSA), a grooming alliance of certifying agencies, educators, associations, industry leaders and other interested parties.
PPGSA has created a living document, giving a foundational set of standards to ensure the safe care of pets in grooming salons, through the education and certification process.

CPG status is not something all groomers accomplish.
“I am excited to have completed this achievement in my career that less than 2% of groomers internationally complete,” Dixon said. “Grooming is a completely unregulated industry, so knowing that I am providing the best care for my clients is fulfilling to me.”
