Lady Cats run back State
The Whitesboro girls squad cross country team qualified for the State meet after coming in second last week at the Class 3A Region II race at the Harold Patterson Sports Complex.
The Lady Bearcats were the region runner-up with 71 points and qualified for state for the seventh straight year.
Senior Brylee Weddle led the pack with a time of 12:28.55 to place sixth.
Sophomore Nya Degraffenreed was 12th in 12:36.40.
Sophomore Paisley Blevins was 20th in 12:59.27.
Junior Jasmin Hernandez took 24th with a time of 13:04.81.
Sophomore Karen Melchor was 29th in 13:14.26.
Junior Tammy Lopez was 30th in 13:15.03.
Junior Sydnie Duhon was 63rd in 14:10.22.
The Whitesboro boys placed sixth with 212 points and S&S placed 14th with 357 points.
Whitesboro sophomore Jaxsen McBride led the Bearcats with a time of 17:56.26 to place 27th.

Senior Jesus Hernandez Cortez was 58th in 18:55.11.
Senior Aidan Brinlee placed 68th with a time of 19:13.61.

Pirate XC advances to State
The Collinsville boys cross country team and Tioga senior Dominque Oranday are headed to State after stellar runs last week in the Class 2A Region II meet at the Harold Patterson Sports Complex.
Collinsville took gold with a total of 82 points.
Last season Collinsville qualified in third place.
Senior Isaiah Smith led the Pirate effort with a time of 16:55.70 to place.
Junior Fernando Perez was eighth in 17:22.32.
Freshman Noah Smith was 11th in 17:44.81.
Sophomore Jose Ramirez was 35th with a time of 18:47.71.
Senior Austin Caldwell was 53rd in 19:24.93.
Freshman Tanner Frick finished 64th in 19:48.62.
Sophomore Ranger Robinson was 66th in 19:52.72.
Oranday had a time of 17:50.11 for Tioga to place 14th and advance as one of the top 10 finishers not on one of the four qualifying teams.
Teammate Alexis Santoyo-Pina was 21st in 18:12.12.
Junior Garrison Black was 43rd with a time of 19:01.39.
Sophomore Maddux Rodriguez was 92nd with a time of 20:26.63.
The Collinsville Lady Pirates finished eighth with 220 points.

Lady Rams fight into post season
The S&S Lady Ram volleyball team got hot late in the year and landed a 13-25, 25-15, 25-15, 26-24 play-in win over Bells Monday night at Howe High School.
Brady Clark, Brooklyn Sterling, Emily Bullard, Lana Walters and Rylee Garrison led the attack for S&S
The win took S&S to 23-18 on the year.
They faced Commerce in a Class 3A Division I Region II bi-district match at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Howe.

Lady Cats post season bound
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat volleyball swept Callisburg, 25-11, 25-21, 25-12, Friday to finish district play.
The win took Whitesboro to 28-14 on the year and 7-5 in district play.
They tied Paradise for third place in the standings;
They entered the playoffs the second seed for the 3A Division I Region II bracket and faced Fort Wort Young Women’s Leadership in a bi-district match at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Denton High School.

Lady Pirates on to bi-district
The Collinsville Lady Pirate volleyball team ended district play Friday with a 25-16, 25-19, 25-16 sweep of Sam Rayburn on the road.
Jaydee Matlock led the attack with 13 kills.
Ali Patterson had eight kills.
Ashleigh Ortowksi had six kills.
Kendall Brandewie had five kills.
Paige Davidson had 31 assists and nine digs.
Reese Patterson had 12 digs.
The win took Collinsville to 26-12 on the year and 7-3 in district play.
They opened the post season Thursday night against Graford in the bi-district round at Bridgeport High School.

Lady Bulldogs take second, on to post season
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team end the regular season in second place Friday night after a 25-22, 28-26, 19-25, 27-25 home loss to Whitewright.
Kennedy Slay led the Bulldog effort with 19 kills, 11 digs and five blocks.
Kyndall Whitley had 17 kills and 20 digs.
Maddison McDonald had 12 kills.
Sadie Bates had 28 assists.
Bella Dennis had 16 digs.
Ella Norwood had 17 assists and 11 digs.
The loss took Tioga to 29-8 on the year and 8-2 in district play.
Whitewright, meanwhile, picked up their fourth straight district championship.
Tioga opened the bi-district round of the playoffs Thursday at Valley View against Alvord.

Bearcat notch big district win
Whitesboro Bearcats routed Dallas A+ Academy, 78-6, on Thursday, Oct. 23. in District 6-3A (I) action.
Colt Fagan went 7-of-7 passing for 95 yards and four touchdowns.
He also ran for a 46-yard score.
Rip Harper went 6-of-6 passing 107 yards and two TDs.
He also had seven carries for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Ian Bruce grabbed three catches for 80 yards and two TDs.
Ayce Nelson had two catches for 32 yards and a TD.
Mason Scarbrough ran twice for 62 yards and a score.
Wyatt Winchester had a 33-yard touchdown catch.
Shayne Gabbert landed a pick-six.
Justin Knight had 11 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown catch.
The win took Whitesboro to 5-3 on the year and 3-1 in district play.
They travel to Pilot Point tonight.
The winner will be in sole possession of second place and secure playoff spot.
Pirates pound Era
The Collinsville Pirates stayed perfect in district play after a 63-20 victory Thursday night over Era at home.
They secured a playoff spot in the process.
Paxton Davidson went 15-of-21 passing for 223 yards and five touchdowns.
Chase Sheppard had eight carries for 147 yards and two scores.
Chad Davidson had four catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Caysen Schafer landed two catches for 64 yards and a score.
He also landed a pick-six.
Carter Larance had two catches for 58 yards and a score.
The win took Collinsville to 7-1 on the year and 3-0 in district play.
They travel to Muenster tonight where they will square off against the defending state champions and attempt to secure the rights to a district championship.
Tioga tamed by Alvord
The Tioga Bulldogs fell to 3-4 on the year and fourth place in the district standings after a 27-20 road loss to Alvord Thursday night.
Jaxson Hurst led the effort with 14 catches for 131 yards and a TD.
Greeley McAden ran 10 times for 90 yards and two scores.
He also went 16-of-27 passing for 161 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.
Justin Arrington had five catches for 53 yards.
Jonathan Hernandez rushed 11 times for 56 yards.
The loss took Tioga to 3-4 on the year and 2-2 in district play.
They host Wolfe City tonight for senior night.
S&S falls to Bells
The S&S Rams remain winless in district play after 50-14 loss to Bells Thursday night at home.
Hunter Courville led the Ram effort with going 11-of-20 passing for 152 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
He also ran eight times for 41 yards.
Joe Orr had five catches for 84 yards and a score.
Eli Nortman had a 26-yard touchdown catch.
Elisha Gentry had a 29-yard catch.
The loss took S&S to 2-5 on the year and 0-4 in district.
They travel to Gunter tonight but have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Tioga takes out Collinsville
Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball teamed earned a 25-18, 25-16, 25-14 victory over the Collinsville Lady Pirates last week on the road.
The win moved Tioga closer to a district championship and all-but secured Collinsville’s third place ranking in district.
Kyndall Whitley had 11 kills and eight digs for Tioga.
Kennedy Slay had nine kills and six digs.
Maddison McDonald had eight kills and three blocks.
Ella Norwood had 15 assists.
Sadie Bates offered 12 assists.
Bella Dennis had 11 digs.

The win took Tioga to 29-7 on the year and 8-1 in district play.
They hosted Whitewright on Friday for claim to the District 10-2A title.
Kendall Brandewie, Jaydee Matlock, Paige Davidson and Reese Patterson all put up numbers for Collinsville.
The loss took the Lady Pirates to 25-12 on the year and 6-3 in district play.
They traveled to Sam Rayburn Friday.
The Lady Pirates are locked into the top seed for the 2A Division II Region II bracket.
Lady Cats top Valley View
The Whitesboro Lady Cat volleyball team secured a playoff spot when they topped Valley View, 25-14, 18-25, 25-19, 25-20, Oct. 21 on the road in district action.
The win took Whitesboro 27-14 on the year and 6-5 in district play.
They traveled to Callisburg on Friday.
Lady Rams oust Howe
The S&S Ram volleyball team moved to 5-7 in district play last week when the landed a 25-23, 25-20, 25-17 home win over Howe and kept their playoff hopes alive.
Emily Bullard led the attack with 10 kills and two aces.
Brady Clark had 10 kills.
Brooklyn Sterling had eight kills and 12 digs.
Rylee Garrison had 30 assists and four aces.
Maddalee Boyd and Addyson Clark each had three aces for S&S.
The Lady Rams moved to 22-18 on the year ahead of a bye on Friday.
They needed Bells to lose to Gunter to force a play-in match next week for the final postseason spot.
