DAR chapter welcomes new members ahead of nation’s 250th anniversary celebration

As the United States approaches a remarkable milestone—250 years since its founding—the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) invites women in Sherman, Texas, and surrounding communities to become part of a living legacy. The Martha Jefferson Randolph Chapter, a proud and active part of the DAR, is excited to welcome new members during this historic time of reflection, celebration and service.

By joining the DAR, women can:

• Embrace History: As the nation marks its 250th anniversary, there has never been a more meaningful time to celebrate your heritage and honor the patriots who shaped America’s future. Members of DAR play a vital role in preserving the stories and sites that define our country’s past.
• Make a Community Impact: The Martha Jefferson Randolph Chapter is dedicated to service projects that strengthen our local community, from supporting veterans to promoting education and patriotism among youth. By joining now, you’ll contribute to lasting initiatives that uplift Sherman and the surrounding area.
• Build Lasting Friendships: DAR is more than an organization; it’s a sisterhood. Members forge lifelong bonds through shared values, volunteerism, and a passion for American history.
• Participate in a National Celebration: The 250th anniversary of the United States is a time of unique events, programs, and commemorations. As a DAR member, you’ll have special opportunities to participate in this once-in-a-generation celebration—locally and nationally.

The Martha Jefferson Randolph Chapter of the DAR was organized in 1927 and is proud to carry on the DAR’s mission of historic preservation, education and patriotism. They welcome women, 18 or older, who can trace their ancestry to a patriot of the American Revolution and those who are interested in learning more about their family history. Whether you are an established resident or new to Sherman, your unique perspective and talents are valued in the DAR.

There has never been a better time to honor your heritage, serve your community and be part of a milestone in American history.
