Tioga Middle School Student Council reveals October plans

Red Ribbon Week, sock collection top community service efforts
Tioga Middle School Student Council reveals October plans

Tioga Middle School is gearing up for Red Ribbon Week at the end of October and has released its dress-up theme days for that week. The Middle School Student Council asks everyone to join them in being a drug-free campus.

Tuesday, Oct. 28 - You’re KEN-nough, Stay Away From Drugs (Dress up as Barbie or Ken)
Wednesday, Oct. 29 - Follow Your Dreams, Don’t Do Drugs (Wear Pajamas Day)
Thursday, Oct. 30 - Team up Against Drugs (Twin outfits with someone else)
Friday, Oct. 31- Scare Drugs Away! (wear your Halloween costume - NO MASKS/BLOOD/WEAPONS)

Student Council is also kicking off SOCK-tober (collecting socks for the homeless) in October. Please gather socks of all sizes and types for men, women and children. There should be a box outside of each classroom in which to place the sock. (Reach out to Cynthia Shelton if your classroom needs a box.) Members of Student Council will come by every day and check to see if there are items to collect and take a count. The winning classroom will receive an ice cream party.

The Tioga Middle School Student Council wishes to thank everyone who helped collect 257 personal care items last month for the Texoma Family Shelter. Mrs. Hansard’s 5th grade class has earned an ice-cream party for collecting the most items. Student Council appreciates your help in making a difference in the community.
