The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce (GACC) is thrilled to announce the return of its annual Scare on the Square on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. in Historic Downtown Gainesville.
This free, family-friendly celebration has become a beloved tradition, featuring a lively costume contest, downtown window decorating contest, music and plenty of candy.
Local businesses and organizations will be on-site at the Gainesville Farmers Market, as well as throughout participating downtown storefronts, to hand out treats and goodies while families enjoy a safe and festive afternoon of trick-or-treating.
“We are always excited this time of year to celebrate such a fun tradition,” said Jennifer Shumate, GACC President/CEO. “Scare on the Square is all about bringing families together, creating memories and celebrating the spirit of our community.”
