Bearcats clipped by Commerce
The Whitesboro Bearcats ended their non-district schedule Friday with a 35-28 home loss to Commerce. 

Quarterback Colt Fagan went 20-of-29 passing for 210 yards and a TD. He also rushed 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns.

Justin Knight ran 22 times for 88 yards and a score. Scout Regalean landed the lone TD catch. Camron Howard had 87 yards on five catches. Ian Bruce snagged seven catches for 71 yards.

The loss took Whitesboro to 2-2 on the year.

They have a bye on this week before opening district play Oct. 3 at Life Oak Cliff.

Rams rout Rivercrest
The drought ended last week, but one win over 30 games wasn’t enough for the S&S Rams. 

They picked back-to-back wins Friday night for the first time since 2021 at a 47-42 final of Rivercrest on the road. 

Hunter Courville went 21-of-34 passing for 304 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed 20 times for 129 yards and three TDs.

Joe Orr had six catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. Brody Colwell landed four catches for 31 yards and a TD. Brandon Petty had a touchdown catch. Noah Rondeau ran 14 times for 50 yards and a TD.

The win took S&S to 2-1 on the year. They open play tonight at Howe.

Pirates win over Wolfe City
The Collinsville Pirates bounced back from a week three loss to pick up a decisive 42-14 home win Friday over Wolfe City. 

Paxton Davidson went 13-of-19 passing for 169 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed 17 times for 254 yards and three touchdowns. 

Chad Davidson had four catches for 60 yards and a TD. Landry Spivey and Carter Larance each had touchdown catches. Jaxon Spivey landed a 58-yard catch. 

The win took Collinsville to 3-1 on the year. They end their non-district schedule tonight against Coleman at Breckenridge.

Tioga tops Lone Oak
The Tioga Bulldogs picked up their first win of the year and capped off non-district play Friday with a 47-7 homecoming win over Lone Oak.

Greeley McAden had 19 carries for 278 yards and four touchdowns. He also went 14-of-21 passing for 187 yards and a TD. 

Justin Arrington had three catches for 35 yards and a TD. Jonathan Hernandez had seven carries for 34 yards and a score. Jaxson Hurst snagged four catches for 66 yards. Jake David hauled in three catches for 47 yards. Caden Downing and Quesyn Arrington each had two interceptions, one of which Arrington returned for a TD. 

The win took Tioga to 1-2 on the year. They open district play tonight with Trenton at home

Lady Cat runners take 5th at Round Rock
The Whitesboro Lady Cats cross country team placed fifth in the 4A race while at the Hoka McNeil Invitational at Round Rock. The boys placed 25th.

Aubrey Beam led Lady Cats 12:09.10 to finish 19th. Nya Degraffenreed was 33rd in 12:21.50. Brylee Weddle was 35th in 12:24. Paisley Blevins was 69th in 12:56.10. Tammy Lopez was 103rd in 13:19.90. Karen Melchor was 111th in 13:26. Jasmin Hernandez was 156th in 13:54.40. Loretta Vawter was 233rd in 14:33.20. Sydnie Duhon was 236th in 14:34.80. McKenna Scoggins was 253rd in 14:45.

Zander Brannan led the Bearcat boys with a time of 17:36.10 to place 37th. Jesus Hernandez Cortez was 102nd in 18:32.80. Jaxsen McBride was 119th in 18:42.50. Aidan Brinlee was 221st in 19:55.60. Jayden Jobert was 233rd in 20:05.80. Chase Timulson was 295th in 21:27.40.

Pirates run at Braswell
Collinsville Pirate cross country placed 16th with 389 points Saturday at the Denton Braswell Invitational at North Lakes Park.

Fernando Perez led the Pirates with a time of 17:26.61 to finish 47th. Noah Smith was 50th in 17:30.09. Isaiah Smith was 93rd in 18:19.97. Ranger Robinson was 99th in 18:32.72. Chad Davidson was 124th in 19:03.77.

Rams run at Trenton
The S&S Ram cross country team finished 4th at the Trenton Invitational on Saturday.

Donaven Gingras led the S&S effort with a third-place finish with a time of 18:21.83. Matthew Flores was fifth in 18:42.55. Kevin Flores Valenzuela was 17th in 19:50.25. Uriah Mannis was 22nd in 20:22.01. Brenden Hammer was 23rd in 20:26.69. Tanner Scoggins was 27th in 21:04.94. Aiden Hickerson was 32nd in 21:19.46. Brandon Petty was 42nd in 22:00.49.

Lady Cats beat by Boyd
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat volleyball team dropped a district bout to Boyd Friday night on the road with margins of 25-17, 25-7, 25-16. The loss took Whitesboro to 22-11 on the year and 1-2 in district play. 

They traveled to Paradise Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.

Lady Pirates down to Poolville
The Collinsville Lady Pirate volleyball team fell to Poolville Friday in five sets, 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 12-15, on the road in non-district play.

Jaydee Matlock led the effort with 18 kills, 14 digs and four aces. Kendall Brandewie had 15 kills and six digs. Ashleigh Ortowski had five kills and 10 digs. Paige Davidson had 29 assists.
Reese Patterson had 12 digs. 

The loss took Collinsville to 19-9 on the year. They opened district play Tuesday at Tom Bean. Results were not available as of press time.

Lady Rams routed by Blue Ridge
The S&S Lady Ram volleyball team is still looking for a district win after being swept 25-21, 25-21, 25-13 Tuesday at home by Blue Ridge. 

Emily Bullard led the Ram effort with 10 kills. Brooklyn Sterling had eight kills, 12 digs and three aces. Lola Morrow had five kills and two blocks. Lana Walters had 15 digs.

The loss took S&S to 17-15 on the year and 0-4 in district play. They hosted Gunter Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.

Tioga v’ball tops Lone Oak
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team ended non-district play Friday with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-18 sweep of Lone Oak at home.

Kennedy Slay led the attack with 15 kills. Maddison McDonald offered six kills. Brennan Guenther had five kills and 10 digs. Sadie Bates had 14 assists. Ella Norwood had 13 assists.
Kyndall Whitley offered 23 digs. Bella Dennis had 15 digs.

The win took Tioga 21-6 on the year. They opened district play Tuesday night with Trenton at home. Results were not available as of press time.

Lady Cats lose to Lindsay
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat volleyball team lost to Lindsay 21-25, 18-25, 27-25, 19-25 Tuesday, Sept. 16 on the road in non-district play. 

The loss took Whitesboro to 22-10 on the year. They returned to district play Friday at Boyd.

Lady Pirates defeat Dodd City
The Collinsville Lady Pirate volleyball team picked up a 25-15, 22-25, 25-18, 25-15 win Tuesday, Sept. 16 against Dodd City on the road in non-district play.

The win took Collinsville to 19-8 on the year. They traveled to Poolville on Friday.

Lady Rams fall to Pottsboro
The S&S Lady Ram volleyball fell 28-26, 18-25, 22-25, 27-25, 15-10 to the Pottsboro Lady Cardinals Tuesday, Sept. 16 on the road in District 11-3A action.

The loss took S&S to 17-14 on the year and 0-3 in district play. They hosted Blue Ridge on Friday.

Lady Bulldogs bulldoze Bonham
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team swept the 4A Bonham Lady Warriors with 26-24, 25-13, 25-20 Tuesday, Sept. 16 at home. 

Kennedy Slay led the attack with 16 kills and nine digs. Kyndall Whitley had nine kills and 11 digs. Brannan Guenther and Maddison McDonald each had five kills. Sadie Bates offered 30 assists. Kenzee Powers had 20 digs. Bella Dennis had 16 digs.

The win took Tioga to 20-6 on the year. They ended non-district play Friday at home against Lone Oak.
