NTMC honored by Becker’s

Becker’s Hospital Review has recognized North Texas Medical Center (NTMC) in Gainesville as a hospital with a five-star rating in nurse communication. NTMC is one of only 529 hospitals nationwide to achieve this distinction.

Becker’s compiled a list of hospitals that were rated five stars for nurse communication in each state, according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s (CMS) Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) data. CMS shares 10 HCAHPS star ratings based on publicly reported HCAHPS measures.

For nurse communication, data from HCAHPS survey questions are used. These questions summarize how well patients feel that their nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully to them, and treated them with courtesy and respect. The data was collected between October 2023 and September 2024, and released on Aug. 6.
