Red River Authors of Cooke and Grayson County, a group of local writers, met Sept. 11 in the conference room at the Medal of Honor Museum in Gainesville.
In attendance were members Susan Bateman, Mark Dickson, Katie Hicks, Tammy Overross, Jayleane Smith and Angie Young. A presentation was given on the use of AI (artificial intelligence), and the group discussed BIGVU, a new marketing program that helps people create authentic, quick and quality content for their brand using AI video power.
The primary focus of the meeting was marketing the group, encouraging all published authors to join in upcoming opportunities like the Peanut Festival on Oct. 18. Cost and time factors were discussed and a variety of ideas were shared.
The author group also decided to participate in the Festival of Trees again, which is sponsored by the Morton Museum at the Santa Fe Depot in Gainesville. The Festival will open on Dec. 5.
Several authors have their books for sale at Flowers by Faith and Urban Junkie. Anyone looking for gifts or Christmas ideas should see what each place has on display.
The next Red River Authors meeting will be held on Oct. 9 at the House of Brews in Whitesboro.
