Abigail’s Arms seeks donations for North Texas Giving Day

Abigail’s Arms Family Crisis Center, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a safe space for families in crisis, educate and empower individuals and create awareness in our communities, is seeking contributions during this month’s North Texas Giving Day.

Now in its 17th year, North Texas Giving Day (Communities Foundation of Texas’ largest community investment initiative and the largest community-wide giving event in the nation) enables area nonprofits to maximize their donors’ dollars.

Not only does 100% of each donation go to nonprofits in more than 25 areas across 20 North Texas counties, but many donations can also be matched, exponentially increasing donor dollars for greater impact.

Abigail’s Arms is one of the recipients of the benefits of this program. The crisis center provides hope, healing and safety for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse in Cooke County, Texas.

Donations enable them to continue to provide such services as:
- Emergency Shelter – open 24/7 for families in crisis
- Child Advocacy Center – a safe space for young survivors
- Victim Advocacy and Counseling – support on the path to healing
- Sexual Assault Interagency and Forensic Services – compassionate team to provide advocacy
- Victim Outreach and Community Education (VOCE) – prevention programs for local students

In just the past year, 201 survivors found shelter; 3,222 counseling sessions were provided; and 642 children received care through the Child Advocacy Center.

This North Texas Giving Day, which culminates on Thursday, Sept. 18, Abigail’s Arms has set a goal to raise $10,000 to continue their critical work. Donations ensure survivors don’t just have safety – they have clothing, warmth and the tools to rebuild their lives.
