This school year, S&S Elementary and S&S High School will each open with a new Assistant Principal at its helm.

Kristy Colvin has been named the new Assistant Principal at the elementary school. With 20 years in public education, Colvin has spent the last three years in administration.

She holds a Bachelor of Science from Alabama’s Jacksonville State University and a Master of Education in teacher leadership from Lamar University.

Colvin also holds an Educational Administration certification from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Her prior roles include teaching and behavior support in elementary and middle schools in Frisco, McKinney and Val Alstyne. She was also the Community Liaison and District ELS Coordinator in Central Administration in Gunter ISD, where she also served as the Dean of Students at Gunter Middle School the last two years.

“It’s a true honor to join such a dedicated school community, and I look forward to supporting our students, staff and families in this new role,” Colvin said. “I am committed to contributing to a positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. I am eager to begin this new chapter and to work alongside our staff to help our school continue to grow and succeed.”

In a Facebook post earlier this summer, S&S CISD also welcomed Jacob Gregory to its team. Gregory brings over 16 years of experience in education, having served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal.

For the past three years, Gregory worked as a recruiting manager for one of the world’s largest staffing firms, Robert Half Inc. He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from East Texas A&M University.

“I’m excited to be back where I feel I belong – in education, serving students, teachers, staff and parents as an administrator,” Gregory said. “I can’t wait to start getting to know everyone who’s part of the Rams family.”

In addition to being S&S High School’s new Assistant Principal, Gregory is a proud dad to 18-year-old Makayla (who will attend Texas State University this fall) and 7-year-old Jett (who is heading into 2nd grade).

Gregory and his wife, Catherine (also an educator), have been married for 20 years.
