We do recover
Letter to the Publisher

Dear Mr. Lewter,

I hope this message finds you well.

I just so happened to be reading Texoma Farm & Home and noticed that you are the publisher. That’s amazing! And congratulations on all your hard work paying off.

I wanted to reach out to express my gratitude for the work you do for our community.

I also wanted to let you know that I have made significant strides in my life since the article you wrote about me back in May of 2016.

In case you do not remember, I made front page news on the Whitesboro News-Record when my house got raided by the WPD and I was taken in for possesion.

I am proud to say that I am clean and committed to living a positive, healthy life. Though, I had a hiccup with being clean and sober since then, I’d like to let you know that I haven’t had a drink, drug or any mind altering mood changing substance since January 26, 2022.

For that, I am eternally grateful for God doing for me what I could never dream of doing for myself.

I work at Fischer’s Meat Market in Muenster, Texas. You came in recently to get some animals processed through us. I meant to approach you then but I didnt think it would be the appropriate way.

However, it was great seeing you the other day, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your commitment to carrying a message to the community and I fully support that cause.

I, too, carry a message. And that message is hope. I now have freedom from active addiction, and the program that I work teaches me that as long as I carry that experience, strength, and hope with me and spread it, then no addict ever need die from this crippling dilemma that our communities are plagued by.

May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you!

Wishing you all the best,

Justin A. Simmons
