This week, the Whitesboro Band’s annual fundraiser began with students volunteering at Fireworks World in Gainesville near Oak Ridge.

Patrons can enjoy a new deal of buy one, get three free of some of the popular items available for sale. The band is also holding a raffle for people to win a chance at receiving a shopping cart full of fireworks.

Located at 7475 E US Hwy. 82, Fireworks World is an indoor, air-conditioned facility that offers an enormous selection of fireworks perfect for celebrating the fourth of July. A portion of the sales will benefit the Whitesboro Bearcat Band in their pursuit of success in the coming school year.

Hours of operation will be June 24 from 9 a.m.-10 p.m.; June 25 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; June 30-July 3 from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. and July 4 from 9 a.m.-midnight. Visit www.FireworksWorldStore.com for more information.

Further south, patrons can support the Collinsville debate team and UIL competitors by shopping at their fireworks fundraiser stand at Hwy. 377, one mile south of Collinsville.

The stand will be open June 24 through July 4 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. All proceeds go directly to help students with their travel expenses, tournament entry fees and materials needed to compete and excel in academic and speech events across Texas.

Please remember it is illegal to set off fireworks within city limits. Use fireworks with caution.
