As spring semesters come to a close, several universities are announcing honors students and graduates which include residents from Whitesboro and the surrounding area.

Midwestern State University (MSU) recognized 977 honor students for spring 2025, including Whitesboro’s Savanah Hott (RN to BSN, post-licensure) who made the President’s Honor Roll, Blake Parker (Accounting major) who made the Provost’s Honor Roll and Erik Wagner Rohwedder de Resende (Finance major) who made the President’s Honor Roll.

MSU also recognized Collinsville’s Jessica Grimes (RN to BSN, post-licensure), who was named to the President’s Honor Roll.

Whitesboro’s Kevin Collins graduated from Sam Houston State University last month, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration.

Collinsville’s Alexis Frick was named to the spring 2025 Dean’s List at the University of Central Arkansas. Also from Collinsville, Lakota Edward Guidinger, a senior Game, Animation and Simulation Design major, earned a 3.5 GPA or higher in the spring 2025 semester, securing a reputable position on Southern Arkansas University’s Dean’s List.

At the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Sadler’s Kimber Kleinert was named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the spring 2025 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must have completed 12 degree-seeking semester credits and achieved at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, named Gainesville’s Seth Foster (majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies), Van Alstyne’s Elda Long (majoring in Border Security) and Lindsay’s Logan Noggler (majoring in Engineering Fundamentals ME) to the Dean’s List. Long also graduated with her bachelor’s degree while Gunter’s Nicolas Gonzalez graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Gunter’s Alyssa Tarpley (majoring in biology) was named to Samford University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean’s List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

At Abilene Christian University, Sherman’s Paxson Wecker (Information Systems major) and Tre Boyd (psychology major) were both named to the Dean’s Honor Roll, as were Van Alstyne’s Morgan Sayers (nursing major) and Gunter’s Jason Villalobos (integrated studies major). Students earn Dean’s Honor Roll recognition by achieving a 3.6 or higher GPA while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

Missouri State University named Gainesville’s Sierra Bower to its Dean’s List. For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the spring semester and at least a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Campbellsville University named Gainesville’s Jana Krstic to the Dean’s List for the spring semester.

The University of Alabama named Gunter’s Kendall Jolly and Van Alstyne’s Cameron Vanvuren, Isa Hollis and Kenneth Wells to the Dean’s List (requiring an academic record of 3.5 or higher). Van Alstyne’s Margie Carson was named to the President’s List (requiring an academic record of 4.0).
