The heavy rains this spring into summer have affected several communities and outdoor areas, including the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. While all hiking trails and major roads are closed due to flooding, the Visitor Center remains open and the Butterfly Garden is beautiful. Second Saturday Presentations, Butterfly Garden Walks and Nature’Ology will be held as scheduled.
Nature’Ology is a fun day of learning about nature. This free, single-day camp for children ages 11-12 years old will be held Saturday, June 7 from 7:45 a.m.-4 p.m. There are still a few spaces open to attend this camp, but registration is required.
