On June 2, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) broke ground on a road work project to increase safety on US Hwy. 377 in Tioga.
Construction crews will be widening the highway and adding stoplights at Hwy. 121 at 377 and Hwy. 922 at 377.
Grayson County Commissioner Precinct 3 Lindsay Wright took to Facebook this week to share her excitement about the project.
“As you know, I’m a huge advocate to making sure that 377 gets some attention from TxDOT and here we are,” she said.
According to TxDot, the project is expected to last until July 2026, which will affect traffic for Tioga ISD when classes are back in session.
“Please driver beware and have patience,” Wright said. “The end result is going to be well worth it.”
