West Grayson Retired School Personnel Association (WGRSPA) announces four 2025 scholarship recipients. This year’s WGRSPA scholarships designated for education majors, junior or above in college, go to Autumn Vance and Rafael Castorena. In addition, each will receive the Joe Bertino Memorial Scholarship.
Vance is a junior, soon to be a senior, at Austin College, where her goal is a master’s degree with teaching certification. Her major is English with a minor in education.
Castorena is a senior at UNT where he majors in education with minors in kinesiology and Spanish.
Jamie Dickson, a nursing major at Grayson College, received the Delores Bertino Memorial Scholarship.
Gerardo Juarez is the recipient of the Curtis Anne Kinsfather Memorial Scholarship. Per her wishes, this scholarship goes to a Whitesboro High School senior. Jaurez will earn a welding certificate at Grayson College.
Glenda Coulson, WGRSPA Scholarship Committee Chair said, “These scholarship recipients are not only great students, but they are also phenomenal people who are going to be at the top in their chosen careers and be great blessings to their communities.”
The recipients of these scholarships and WGRSPA heartily thank the families who so generously fund the memorial scholarships in memory of their loved ones. In addition, WGRSPA gratefully acknowledges the support of our communities during our fundraising activities each year. You are a part of our projects and their focus on the educational futures of our young people.
