The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce (GACC) is proud to announce that President/CEO Jennifer Shumate is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Excellence (CCE) Program that is held in conjunction with the Texas Chamber of Commerce and Texas A&M University’s Continuing and Professional Education.
The CCE program is a nine-day program over three years based at the Texas A&M College Station campus which teaches the key components of leading a Texas-based Chamber of Commerce: board, volunteer and human capital management, membership, marketing and communications, advocacy, building coalitions and not-for profit foundation, revenue streams, strategic planning, ethics/decision making, cybersecurity and becoming an effective leader.
“In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, the importance of professional development cannot be overstated” stated Shumate. “As your CEO of the Chamber, I am excited to champion initiatives that empower us to be a better partner to our membership. Professional development is not just an investment in individual growth; it is a vital component of fostering innovation, skill enhancement, and helping usher in a thriving economic environment. When professionals grow, our community thrives.”
Shumate has also begun the process of obtaining her IOM (Institute for Organization Management) designation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
