PAIR SURVIVES SHOCK FROM ELECTRICAL LINE
One Whitesboro resident is listed in stable condition, while a second was released Friday from the hospital after sustaining third degree burns from an electrical shock.

Dorothy Slaten and Wesley Davis, both 62, were rushed to Wilson N. Jones Memorial Hospital in Sherman following the April 11 incident.

Slaten is scheduled for possible release this week, but relatives say the healing process will be lengthy. She suffered a broken shoulder as well as severe burns on her feet and hands. Slaten underwent surgery late last week to correct both complications.

Davis and his wife Melba were assisting Slaten at her Roland Road home with the removal of a CB antenna when the pole became tangled in 7200 volt electrical lines.
Both Slaten and Davis were knocked unconscious by the current, while Melba Davis was spared from injury due to her grip on a wooden ladder.
Melba Davis dialed 9-1-1 to contact emergency crews.
