Early voting for local school boards begins Tuesday, April 22 and will end Tuesday, April 29.

In Whitesboro, there will be no election for city council as incumbents Su Welch and Carla Woolsey (each seeking a two-year term) and John Moore (seeking a one-year term) are running unopposed. Jeff Butts is the only person who filed to run for Mayor.

For the Whitesboro ISD School Board, there are five candidates running for two positions. Incumbents  Shannon Blake and Michael Parish are being challenged by Eddie Wood, Keri Downs and Brittany Knight.

Early voting will take place at Whitesboro City Hall (111 W. Main Street) April 22-25 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and April 28-29 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

In Collinsville, there will be no election for city council as incumbent Steve Ritchey is running unopposed and Chase Guidera is the only person to have filed to run for Mayor. A one-year 
seat and a two-year seat will be appointed.

Meanwhile, for the Collinsville ISD School Board, incumbent Jarrett Crisp is being challenged by Ronnie O’Neal, Sr. for Place 6 while incumbent Bailey Lahr is being challenged by Nancy Castorena for Place 7.

Early voting will take place in the main room at the Community Center (201 N. Main Street) April 22-25 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and April 28-29 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. 

At S&S CISD, Brad Colwell is running unopposed for Place 2 while Cameron Fisher and Jeffrey McSpedden are facing off for Place  7.

Additionally, S&S CISD has called for a $36 million bond to include projects that address community and student body growth by adding new builds, additions and district-wide updates. (Visit www.sscisdbond.com to learn more.)

Early voting will take place in the main room at the Southmayd Community Center (4708 Belknap) April 22-25 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and April 28-29 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Election day for all cities will be May 3 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
