QB CLUB PLANS WORLD SERIOUS

Plans for the annual battle between Whitesboro businessmen located on the north and south sides of Main Street were discussed at the Monday night meeting of the Quarterback Club.

The World Serious baseball game will be held May 7 at the high school baseball diamond.

Last year the game was won by the North, 14-10.

Plans call for a parade at 5 p.m. to precede the game. Mike Allen has been appointed as chairman of the parade committee and requests that all clubs, organizations and business firms sponsor an entry in the parade.

Leroy Johnson has been named chairman of the ticket committee and Bill O’Brien will be in charge of the concession stand.

Tickets for the game will be 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for children.

Carl Bryan and Jim McFarland have been selected as managers for the North and South teams respectively.

Members of the Northern squad will wear gold and Southern team members will wear maroon.

Officials of the Quarterback Club said that rules this year allow for the two innings of the game to be played by men over 40 and the other three innings to be played by men 39 and under. All players must be members of the Quarterback Club.

Losers of the annual tilt will be host to a fish fry scheduled for May 21 at 7:30 p.m.
