In the March 28 issue of the News-Record, it was reported that Keep Collinsville Beautiful (KCB) was notified by TxDOT that it will no longer be funding grants, therefore KCB’s sidewalk project was put on hold.
To clarify, TxDOT will not be funding the grants for the Governor’s Community Achievement Awards in the future. The KCB award that was received in 2023 has already been approved and funded and is in the design and engineering stage.
Therefore, TxDOT’s new policy does not affect KCB’s current project. The delay is due to a lack of TxDOT personnel.
